Map of Major roads in/through San Antonio

Driving in from the east:
You'll most likely be coming in on Interstate 10 from the east. Take I-10 West through San Antonio, passing Loop I-410 twice, once on the southeast side of San Antonio and once on the northwest. Take exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Continue on the I-10 west access road to Wurzbach road, going through the intersection controlled by the traffic light. Stay on the access road for two blocks, moving to the right-hand lanes. The Omni is on the right. NOTE: If coming through Houston, and if you are driving alone thereby not qualifying to use the HOV lanes, avoid rush hour to prevent the nominal 3.5 hour trip from Houston to San Antonio from becoming more like 4.5 to 5 hours.

Driving in from the west:
You'll most likely be coming in on Interstate 10 from the west. Something on the order of 100 miles west of San Antonio, the posted speed limit of 80 on I-10 East reduces to 70 miles per hour, and as you reach San Antonio it decreases further to 65. Pass 1604 (Anderson Loop) and take exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Continue on the I-10 west access road to Wurzbach road, going through the intersection controlled by the traffic light. Stay on the access road for two blocks, moving to the right-hand lanes. The Omni is on the right.

Driving in from the south:
There are two interstates coming from the south, I-35 and I-37:

If you are coming north on I-35 from the south, stay on I-35 North through the city. As you reach the downtown area, watch for signs to I-10 west. The exit is the two far left lanes off I-35 North. Take I-10 West toward El Paso, and take exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Continue on the I-10 west access road to Wurzbach road, going through the intersection controlled by the traffic light. Stay on the access road for two blocks. The Omni is on the right.

If you are coming north on I-37 from the south, follow I-37 North into the city. Watch signs for exit to I-35 South. Take I-35 South, moving to the two right lanes. The transition from I-35 South to I-10 West involves a 25mph decreasing radius curve. Follow I-10 West toward El Paso and take exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Continue on the I-10 west access road to Wurzbach road, going through the intersection controlled by the traffic light. Stay on the access road for two blocks, moving to the right-hand lanes. The Omni is on the right.

Driving in from the north:
You'll most likely be coming in on Interstate 35 from the north. On I-35 South, pass 1604 (Anderson Loop) and take exit #166 to Loop 410 West. Proceed to I-10 West, exiting I-410 west from the far right lane. Take I-10 west to exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Continue on the I-10 west access road to Wurzbach road, going through the intersection controlled by the traffic light. Stay on the access road for two blocks, moving to the right-hand lanes. The Omni is on the right. NOTE: Plan your drive such that you avoid Austin during rush hour, nominally 6:45-8:45am and 3:30-6:30pm. Rush hour through Austin will add at least an hour of stop and go (mostly "stop") travel to your trip.

There is a good alternative to I-35 South which would add approximately 30 minutes to an otherwise uneventful (no rush hour in Austin) trip. On the south end of Belton, TX, take exit #293 off I-35 South onto US190 West. Go through Killeen and Copperas Cove to Lampasses and turn left onto US281 South. Travel US 281 South to 1604 (Anderson Loop) West on the north side of San Antonio. Proceed on 1604 West to I-10 East; as you approach the I-10 intersection, get in the right lane. You will go over I-10 and take the cloverleaf to the right to get on the I-10 East access road. Follow the signs onto I-10 East. It's approximately 5 miles to Exit #561 (Wurzbach Rd). Once on the eastbound access road, stay to the left and take the turn around to west-bound access road. Continue on the access road for two blocks, moving to the right-hand lanes. The Omni is on the right.
